When you happen to be passing by the deep ellum, the Angry Dog establishment is one spot that cannot be passed by. The Angry Dog is one heck of a old-school style tavern that serves up an amazing assortment of drinks and meals to pair. In fact, the bar fare is possibly one of the best in the State and will rank top 10 from across the country in our experience. The food here has won multiple awards with respect to their wings, burgers and hot-dogs. One thing they make clear is that Angry Dog is not a sport bar, instead a great bar with great food. It's how taverns began and they continue the tradition right here in Dallas. Since 1990 they've been doing what they do to this very day of writing and with tremendous success. It's always on everyone's recommendations when in town - and we without hesitation agree. Dozens of awards since they first opened, there's a reason everyone raves and recommend this spot. Friendly service with a local flare, it's an overall winner in every sense of the Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives criteria check boxes. So much to explore here but some standouts from our combined visits to Angry Dog include the amazing Wings, Burgers, Hot Dogs smothered in Chili and Cheese, Natural (Vegetarian) Sandwich, Tater Tots, Chicken Strips, Ribeye Tacos and more. Also, they have a wicked late-night menu that you must take advantage of when arriving later in the evenings.
