Watch episode 'All Things New York' in season 19
Black Tree is conveniently located in Manhattan's east-side village and was featured proudly
on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. In fact, Black Tree is a genuinely amazing eatery which has been open since 2013 with tremendous success.
While very young in terms of restaurants go especially for the NYC area, Black Tree has made a memorable impression on the locals and
visitors in NYC. Black Tree have become famous in the culinary NYC scene for their Sandwich filled menu which is always fresh, consistent
and delicious from our personal visits here. With a farm-to-table direction, all ingredients are brought in from farms scattered well over
300 miles away. When you visit this upscale restaurant, be sure to try their Pork Belly Pig Sandwich which is loaded with their awesome
secret spice rub, is braised in beer and topped with a housemade brown butter apple preserver. Truly a must when visiting Black Tree, it's
our personal favorite menu item here. It's with a heavy heart however we have to report that this famed Urban American landmark in NYC has
closed it's doors permanently. Closing it's door shortly just in 2015, they have reportedly made a re-boot with Raw Material, at 131 Orchard.
We have yet to visit the new restaurant, and once we do we'll report it thoroughly as we always do here in Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives
locations guide.
