About CAFE PESTO

These folks have been in business since 1988 and they continue to set the standard in the city of Hilo. Of course, most dining spots found in Hawaii are memorable, but Cafe Pesto has always stood out to us as one of the best. It's all about comfort foods with creative twist while all the while staying true to island ingredients and traditions. They are located in a historical building which was built in 1912 by the Hata family. Famous for their pizza, it was the menu item which first set things off so many decades ago. They have evolved to many delicious items which are always evolving each time we come. So many seafood and Italian choices found here that will stand up to any restaurant across the globe. A big open space that is inviting, historical and memorable. We love all menu items here but some standouts continue to be their BBQ Pork Sandwich, Alfredo, many pizza options such as their Big Island BLT Pizza or Luau Pizza. Also, Milolii, Apple Crisp a la Mode, Crab Cake Salads, fresh Calamari or wash it all down with their POG Lemonade. Seriously friends, Cafe Pesto is a spot which you do not want to miss by any means when visiting Hawaii. It will be a highlight of your visit and leave you with fond memories for years to come.
