If you're seeking some authentic Mexican cooking with a twist in a diner environment, this is the dive to get yourself in to! By far, the most popular item on the menu and Guy's personal favorite is the made-to-order Mole Poblano that we always end up ordering as well. On recent visits, it appears that the famed Cempazuchi has closed it's door in 2017. The owner Bryce Clark decided to shut things down to explore the world and seek new adventures according to his own words. Our heart breaks when hearing this news as when it comes to worthwhile Mexican restaurants in the Milwaukee area, this was always near the top of the list. Since 1999, they opened their doors to amazing reviews, awards and nearly two decades of success followed. If you visit the spot today, you'll be pleasantly surprised to find Kompali Taqueria. We had the pleasure to dine here recently and they continue the Mexican tradition with made-to-order and delicious Mezcal, Tacos and of course a river of flowing Tequila. While the original spot is long gone, the replacement is just a great.
