German cuisine is some of the best you can find when in Europe. With so much history and exceptional flavors compared to traditional North American alternatives, Chef Kempf brings a little bit of this magic over from his homeland for us in the USA to indulge in. The entire menu is great, but we suggest some of the better know specialities such as their in-house prepared Liver Dumpling Soup, Sauerbraten or even the timeless Rindsrouladen. This spot has some mixed recent history as in 2017 this German-American icon had closed it's doors. This was truly devastating to all the local customers and regulars that have made it a staple in the community. With nearly half a century in the Lincoln square, nothing filled the massive void. But there is good news, as 2020 saw the Brauhaus re-locating inside of Chicago's DANK Haus German American Cultural Center. Much of the decor items from the old-spot has been moved to the new spot to bring back as much as possible of the old to the new. Now it's possible to once again experience the many German Beers, the amazing selection of homestyle dishes that will warm your heart and the service that is unmatched by any local place. It's a true historical experience to dine and drink here so we urge you to experience it for yourselves when visiting Chicago. So be sure to visit the NEW LOCATION found at 4740 N.
