One of our personal favorite Italian spots in Houston, for many delicious reasons. This is a classic Italian style cafe which truly blends everything wonderful about Italy under one roof. A low-key spot in a strip mall, it actually packs a bigger bang for the buck then it may appear from the exterior and location. The roots of this spots stem from Brescia in northern Italy itself, over 4 decades ago. More specifically.. it's the story and experience of Chef Roberto Crescini that brings this place to life and the tremendous success it has become. Plenty of Italian style dishes here, baked fresh goods and also a creative create-your-own pasta options which will please you. Also, it's a BYOB spot so take advantage if that's your thing. The pasta here is all made fresh from raw ingredients using old Italian traditions. Everyone agrees that the most impressive aspect of this cafe is the passion of the Chef which shines through from the moment you arrive. Another thing we will mention is that their amazing pasta sauces are available to purchase to take home, we always fill up our supply when we visit. All of the foods here are of the highest quality and some quality choices here include their Braised Lamb Tagliatelle, Lasagna, Clam Chowder (using red sauce instead, wonderful), Octopus, Caesar Salad, Fredda Pizza, Beef Carpaccio with Truffles and one of our favorite desserts of all time - Apple Cake! Honestly, we urge you to visit this spot and take full advantage of this hidden gem in Houston.
