Watch episode 'From Pound Cake to Pot Pie' in season 17
If you've always wanted a taste of traditional African cuisine in the comfort of the United States, then
this wonderful gem of an eatery found in the state of Pennsylvania is your perfect dining destination. We made our way down a few weeks ago and were
really blown away by the authentic and well put together menu at Geechee Girl Cafe. It's the one of a kind Soul Food paradise for anyone whom appreciates
a good meal that warms the soul. First off, when you're at Geechee Girl, you must not leave until you've tried their freshly prepared pan-crusted North
African Chicken with tons of flavor. Plus, their slow roasted and smoked Carolina Pulled Pork dish is something you simply cannot get enough of. But as
we all know you must save a bit of room for dessert and the one that always stands out here is their Netta's Sour Cream Pound Cake. Literally a pound or
more of sweetness, goodness and memorable foodie joy. Geechee Girl opened up for business back in 2003 and has since closed their doors for good, but for
those that had the chance to dine here - considers yourselves one of the fortunate ones. We can honestly attest that we haven't come across anything even
near the hand crafted American Southern food which was served here.
